        Completing the ProEthica® Modules

The ProEthica® program is broken into modules so that it can be completed over the course of a year, if desired, and as directed by your enrollment manager. The modules in the program must be completed in order, starting with the Introduction. Once you finish a module, the next module will unlock. Each of the modules was designed to take about 30 minutes to complete, but the amount of time it takes will vary based on how much you decide to engage with the material. You may exit a module before completing it and return to where you left off.

The first time you log in to the ProEthica program, only the first module will be unlocked. From the home screen, you can identify the locked modules by the padlock icon located in the upper-right corner of each module window. To start a module, you will select the "Take the lesson for this module" link that appears when you roll your cursor over an unlocked module.

Most of the modules consist of two parts: a lesson and a test. The lesson must be completed before the test can be accessed.

A module's lesson may contain multiple activities, which you must complete in order. After you complete each activity, you will be directed to return to the module menu. When you have completed all of the activities in the module's lesson, a message will appear on the menu indicating that the lesson is complete.

Completed lessons remain available for you to review up until the point that you have completed the ProEthica program. Data from the module's lesson is not collected or reported.

For additional information on completing the module lessons, see Troubleshooting.

Many of the modules in the ProEthica program include an end-of-module test that must be completed before you can move on to the next module. Each end-of-module test contains 12 multiple-choice questions to check for understanding of the concepts presented in the module's lesson. You may find it helpful to refer to the Model Code of Ethics for Educators (MCEE) as you respond to the questions. The Essentials version of the ProEthica program also includes a summative assessment after all of the modules have been completed.

While you can log out of the ProEthica program during one of the module lessons and pick up where you left off, you should not log out during an end-of-module test. If you close out of the program during an end-of-module test, the questions you have completed up to that point will be scored, it will count as one attempt and your score will be recorded.

After you complete a test, you will immediately see your on-screen results as well as the correct answer for each question, your response and a rationale for the correct answer. With the exception of your results (percent correct), this information is only available on this screen and once you leave this screen, you will not be able to see it again.

        After Completing the Modules

Once all of the modules and end-of-module tests (and summative assessment, if applicable) have been completed, you will be presented with a Certificate of Achievement. A progress report including your scores is displayed in the "My History" section of the ProEthica program LMS. Your Certificate of Achievement can also be accessed in the "My History" section.
